On this tour, you will hike the well-maintained trail through the forest, designed to protect the surrounding grounds from the ecological impact of visitors. Your guide will provide information on the surrounding flora and fauna.

You’ll stroll past venerable populations of white pine, oak, and cypress trees. Because the farm is fairly high in the mountains – 8,694 feet (2650 m) above sea level – parts of the trail will pass through a high-elevation cloud forest, which is usually shrouded in mist. In addition to protecting an endangered environment, El Pilar also provides water to nearby communities and grows a small amount of coffee.
